The performance of an organisation can be measured in a number of ways:
Internal PerceptionsThe following figure shows how employees rate their organisation according to predefined criteria. The figure shows the percentage of employees that rate the organisation as good or excellent.
Competitive BenchmarkingIn a customer driven world, the performance of a company and how it is viewed in comparison to competitors is increasingly important. The analysis of a company's performance relative to others is a service Q&A can offer. We recommend that a company needs to undertake such an analysis on a regular basis in order to assess improvements over time. Benchmarking Against the BestQ&A has been involved in a project on Knowledge Management with Microsoft (UK). The following figure shows how organisations are performing on: knowledge-driven culture; knowledge infrastructure; distributed working; knowledge transfer; and working practices. In analysing the sample of 650 organisations it was found that about 5 per cent were high-performing organisations (denoted in the top right quadrant) - in other words, the criteria was rated as important and they were performing well. Those in the top left quadrant (the majority) were under-performing on the given criteria.
